Fuel guide

Fuel can't be shipped internationally, so it never comes with your order. Here is what to look for where you live.

Which fuel

Platinum hand warmers run on a highly refined benzine (naphtha). Outside Japan, the easiest choice is Zippo lighter fluid: it works well in Hakkin warmers and is sold in most countries. In Japan, Hakkin also sells its own Hakkin benzine.

What not to use

Never use petrol (gasoline) for cars, kerosene, alcohol or lighter gas. They can damage the burner or be dangerous.

Safety

Fuel is flammable. Fill only when the warmer is cold, outdoors or in a well-ventilated room, away from any flame. Store fuel tightly closed and out of reach of children.
